This was a commision for our lovely cashier at Animethon. So PLEASE refrain from ANY unauthorized use of it!
After seeing the technicolour oil spill she exclaimed VERY enthusiastically that she would give her soul and future children and such to have a sea turtle in a similair style. I was hooked on the idea, I didn't tell her for sure I would make her it, but I did and when she saw it in progress she literally squealed. ^_^
Looking back, I should have charged more! XD this nearly broke my wrist!
Done on roughly 8" by 11" sketchbook paper, in a .03 sakura micron V_V;; my hand was extremely cramped after working on it!
I did use referance photos of sea turtles, since she was very adament that it BE a SEA TURTLE
to me it looks like it would make a cool tattoo design, although I would pity any tattoo artist asked to copy it
It is ink, but I smoothed the black in photoshop to eliminate all the white specks that you can't see in real life.
Do you usually prefer things un-edited?
Only if leaving it unedited has some point, as if it's supposed to be grungy. But no, I edit all my traditional work, just because scanners have dirt or dust or something sometimes, and there are a lot of flaws that are not noticeable until you're looking at your beautiful artwork that you worked so hard on at 300% and thinking 'ARRRRGH that speck shouldn't be there!!'
so no. And your turtle looks very nice.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This is YOUR opportunity to mock, ridicule and generally take great delight and amusement whilst poking fun at the beloved Volunteers and Staff of deviantART.
