I wanted to try hammering copper, so I created this bust out of a platter and a copper float for my sculpture course last fall.
The annealing process made some beautiful patterns of colours. I sanded the float like crazy to remove the oxidization, creating rings around every dent. I spent four hours straight hammering, and later found out that was a very BAD idea. Ouch. |
