pony in a ball- macro

Sculpture project, emphasizing inside and outside. This one represents childhood memories, especially that obsessive love of horses than many little girls feel. The fact that the pony is encased in 'ice' represents our inability to return to childhood, only crack open the memory and peer at it.

I made the mold from a glass christmas ball. I cast a hollow ball in resin with a toy pony inside, then cut it open.

My friends find this thing endlessly funny, and the side without the pony has a very soothing rippled texture, fun to feel.
